Steve | Scuba Diver Trainer

Steve has been passionate about SCUBA diving since completing his PADI Open Water Course with Fins Watersports in Hull in 1996, spending the next eight years diving the often challenging waters of the UK.

In 2004, Steve was posted to Cyprus with the British Army, where he completed his Advanced Open Water Course and began exploring the island’s coastline by boat, quickly developing a deep connection with the Mediterranean.

During his 22 years of military service he has got experiences that shaped his discipline, leadership, and calm approach under pressure.

In 2016, Steve took the professional leap into diving by becoming a PADI Instructor, retiring from the military the following year to fully dedicate himself to life underwater.

In March 2018, Steve turned a long-held dream into reality by purchasing Pissouri Bay Divers then a small, modest dive centre and building it into one of the top dive centres in Cyprus through hard work, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional diving experiences.

Steve is widely regarded as the go-to expert on Jubilee Shoals his favourite dive site and one he knows better than anyone. From hidden swim throughs to ever changing marine life, there’s no one better to guide you through this unique underwater landscape.

When Paul came to Cyprus after his retirement, he looked forward to embarking upon a sea of tranquillity. It turns out, however, that Paul is not cut out for the quiet life of tanning on the beach all day. So he took up diving again with Steve at Pissouri Bay Divers: What started out as a hobby the time quickly became a daily habit. One course led to another, and soon enough, Paul achieved his Divemaster qualification and immediately afterwards, his DSD leadership.

Something that never crossed his mind when he made his first dive back in 1983, also in Cyprus.

Paul loves the underwater life and is an excellent turtle spotter.

But his absolute favourite dive is the Zenobia wreck. That’s why he knows it like the back of his hand, and we call him our very own Zen-specialist.

When Paul’s not diving, you can find him sitting quietly with a Keo in his hand, watching the people pass by. Not being a man of many words, Paul is the perfect underwater guide and will happily show you all the beautiful underwater sites of Cyprus.

Joe | Jubilee Shoals diving

Joe first came to Cyprus at the start of 2019 with just a backpack, tent and a plan to travel the island for three months. However, the magic of the island soon turned those three months into five years.
Joe completed his divemaster internship with Latchi Watersports and fell in love with the underwater world and scuba diving. So much so he decided to become an instructor at the end of 2019 and has been teaching since.

During his time teaching he decided he wanted to progress further and completed a range of speciality courses, as well as working his way up to IDC Staff Instructor level by the end of 2023. He will tell you himself he isn’t planning on stopping anytime soon!

2024 was time for a change of scenery and so Joe joined the team at Pissouri Bay Divers in mid-April. Now into his second season and absolutely loving it, Joe can’t get enough of diving at Jubilee Shoals and is ready for another year of great diving and epic underwater experiences!

Charlotte has always loved the outdoors - especially the underwater world. After finishing her A - Levels in Germany, in 2025 she decided to follow her passion and take a leap of faith. At 18, she moved to Cyprus to begin a new chapter as an intern at Pissouri Bay Divers, excited to discover just how much the world of diving has to offer.

She loves the peaceful quiet underwater just as much as the lively atmosphere in the dive shop, meeting and chatting with people from all over the world. Charlotte is a sporty and active person who enjoys exploring the outdoors and staying busy.

Fluent in English and German and also speaking Dutch, she enjoys connecting with others and sharing experiences. Charlotte is always happy to help wherever she can and believes in being kind, grateful, and making the most of every opportunity.

You’ll usually find her either out at sea enjoying the calm underwater world or in the shop helping out and sharing a good conversation.

Sascha is one of those personalities you notice straight away and remember. An early bird by nature, she’s usually up before the rest of us, quietly checking the water conditions in Pissouri Bay while most people are still reaching for their first coffee.

Her passion for diving isn’t just a hobby it’s a way of life. That dedication has already taken her to the level of Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and she brings that same energy and enthusiasm to every dive and every student she works with. Sasha’s curiosity about the world doesn’t stop at the shoreline either. It has carried her across the globe, with diving experiences in places like Vietnam, Bali, Thailand, Fiji, French Polynesia, Australia, and even Denmark though not necessarily in that order.

Beyond diving, her thoughtful and inquisitive nature led her down an academic path in anthropology, followed by a Master’s in IT Management a combination that says a lot about how her mind works: always exploring, always connecting the dots.

Her vegan lifestyle reflects that same awareness and care for the world around her.

And, just so there’s no confusion on the surface either Sasha also holds the unofficial title of the tallest blonde at Pissouri Bay Divers. Hard to miss, in the best possible way.

Ethan is originally from Northern Ireland and first caught the diving bug at 16 years old on holiday; completing his first Open Water Course and instantly falling in love with the underwater world.

What began as a holiday adventure quickly turned into a passion and by 2021 he had made the leap to turn diving into a full-tiime career. Since then, Ehan has been lucky enough to dive in some incredible locations, gaining experience in the Carribean, Mexico and across Europe, experiencing everything from vibrant coral reefs to dramatic Mediterranean dive sites.

These experiences have only deepened his love of the ocean and strengthened his enthusiasm for sharing it with others. Ethans favourite part of the job is introducing people to diving ad helping them to discover just how incredible the underwater world can be.

Whether it's someone taking their first breaths underwater or progressing through their training, he enjoys helping divers build confidence and explore safely.
