A welcome from Pissouri Bay Divers
Introducing the Team
Steve has been a passionate SCUBA diver since completing his PADI Open Water course with Fins Watersports, Hull in 1996, predominantly diving UK waters for the next 8 years.
In 2004 Steve was posted to Cyprus with the British Army where he completed his PADI Advanced Open Water course with Alpha Divers, Larnaca. Whilst based in Cyprus Steve owned his own boat and extensively explored and dived the coastline of Eastern Cyprus and fell in love with the MS Zenobia Shipwreck.
Steve qualified as a PADI Rescue Diver with Seastyle Divers, Worcester in 2011 and decided at this point that he wanted to become a PADI professional.
Prior to retiring from the Military in January 2017, following an extremely eclectic 22-year career. Steve completed his PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructors course with Coral Bay Divers, Paphos in September 2016. Following retirement from the Military Steve then spent the summer season of 2017 as an Instructor for Coral Bay Divers and qualified as a Master SCUBA Diver Trainer in September 2017.
In their first season of 2018 Steve took Pissouri Bay Divers from strength to strength, he took them from 2nd to 1st position on TripAdvisor, increased Facebook followers from 425 to over 800, Instagram followers from 220 to 750 and received a commendation from PADI for Outstanding Customer Service and Professionalism in PADI Instruction.
The 2019 season was late to start but once underway exceeded all expectations by breaking all previous Pissouri Bay Divers records for certifications, dive introductions and guided dives, increasing the social network followers to 1400 Facebook and 1300 Instagram and counting.
Despite global disruptions throughout the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 situation, the season has proved to be the busiest in the history of Pissouri Bay Divers. From a total of 55 PADI Dive Centres across Cyprus, Pissouri Bay Divers are in the top 5 for certifications completed, earning Steve the prestigious award of ‘Elite’ Instructor, for the second consecutive season.
Steve is excited and in eager anticipation for the 2021 season, looking forward to meeting new and returning customers to introduce them to the undersea world. Making new friends to share his knowledge and love of diving with and to continue educating people in becoming more aware to the environment and to respect nature and the natural world.
Following a long 32 year Military Career and spending many years of that time based in Cyprus, there was no other place Dave would ever have retired.
Dave completed his PADI Open Water diver course with Viking Divers, Larnaca in 2014, following on from this Dave opted to further his diving education by utilising his military resettlement to complete his PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Divemaster qualifications with Coral Bay Divers, Paphos in 2016.
Dave soon developed an unquenchable passion for SCUBA diving and couldn’t spend enough time underwater, he dived whenever and wherever possible to many dive destinations including Malta, the Red Sea and pretty much all over Cyprus, gaining valuable experience and skills in a multitude of environments and conditions.
In 2019 Dave realized his dream and after retiring from the MOD became a PADI Professional with Pissouri Bay Divers as a Divemaster.
Dave soon settled into this extremely demanding yet satisfying dive professional lifestyle, he qualified as a Discover SCUBA Diving leader and introduced more than 70 customers to the underwater world during the 2019 season.
Dave completed his Open Water SCUBA and Speciality Instructors course in 2020 with Coral Bay Divers, Paphos and is now excited and looking forward to another busy season in 2021, introducing new divers to this fantastic sport, enhancing already qualified divers with continuing education whilst having an awesome time meeting new customers and welcoming regulars with a smile and a rubbish ‘Dad’ joke……. Or two.

Maybe something about the area
Pissouri Bay is an unspoilt, small and friendly village located approximately half way between Limassol and Paphos, a 20 min drive from Paphos Airport and around 1 hour drive from Larnaca Airport. We have a large resort complex here, The Columbia, comprising of a newly refurbished luxury hotel and luxury Villas and Apartments. We have a gorgeous bay with a number of water sport operators offering Jet Skis, Flying Fish, Parascending, Water Skiing, Kayaks and much more. Alternatively if you would rather just unwind and relax then there are a number of sun lounger providers, or just bring your towel and easily find your own space along this unspoiled bay. For the more open minded and liberated amongst you, at the far end of the bay in a secluded area where you can find a naked beach ……just don’t forget your sun block.
If you want to travel further afield simply let us know and we can put you in contact with local hire car companies for your independence, or there are regular bus trips to Paphos for a mere €1.50 per person.
You can head west towards Paphos which is around 40 mins and hosts a Marina, modern Shopping Mall, the Tomb of the Kings attraction, a Water Park, Zoo and many more attractions to suit everybody. Continue through Paphos heading west and you eventually come to the un-spoilt Akamas Peninsula, absolutely stunning, and if you have Quad Bikes or a 4×4, then follow the coast line continuing west and you can soon find deserted coves, beaches and reefs where I guarantee you will be totally alone. Alternatively you could head east towards the second City of Cyprus, Limassol, again with a Shopping Mall, Marina and whole host of activities. Continue East towards Larnaca and beyond to the Party town of Ayia Napa and eventually the ghost town of Famagusta. You can head inland the Capital City, Nicosia, the only remaining divided capital in the world, or, alternatively/additionally head up into the Troodos Mountain Range eventually arriving at Mount Olympus for breath taking views, a cooler climate and amazing local goods.
