Steve
Steve has been a passionate SCUBA diver since completing his PADI Open Water course with Fins Watersports, Hull in 1996, predominantly diving UK waters for the next 8 years.
In 2004 Steve was posted to Cyprus with the British Army where he completed his PADI Advanced Open Water course with Alpha Divers, Larnaca. Whilst based in Cyprus Steve owned his own boat and extensively explored and dived the coastline of Eastern Cyprus and fell in love with the MS Zenobia Shipwreck.
Steve qualified as a PADI Rescue Diver with Seastyle Divers, Worcester in 2011 and decided at this point that he wanted to become a PADI professional.
Prior to retiring from the Military in January 2017, following an extremely eclectic 22-year career. Steve completed his PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructors course with Coral Bay Divers, Paphos in September 2016. Following retirement from the Military Steve then spent the summer season of 2017 as an Instructor for Coral Bay Divers and qualified as a Master SCUBA Diver Trainer in September 2017.

In their first season of 2018 Steve took Pissouri Bay Divers from strength to strength, he took them from 2nd to 1st position on TripAdvisor, increased Facebook followers from 425 to over 800, Instagram followers from 220 to 750 and received a commendation from PADI for Outstanding Customer Service and Professionalism in PADI Instruction.
The 2019 season was late to start but once underway exceeded all expectations by breaking all previous Pissouri Bay Divers records for certifications, dive introductions and guided dives, increasing the social network followers to 1400 Facebook and 1300 Instagram and counting.
Despite global disruptions throughout the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 situation, the season has proved to be the busiest in the history of Pissouri Bay Divers. From a total of 55 PADI Dive Centres across Cyprus, Pissouri Bay Divers are in the top 5 for certifications completed, earning Steve the prestigious award of ‘Elite’ Instructor, for the second consecutive season.
Throughout 2021 and 2022 Pissouri Bay Divers continued to gain in strength and momentum, each year proving more successful and stronger than the previous, with consistant awards from PADI and various tourist boards recognising the quality of SCUBA diving provided by Pissouri Bay Divers
The 2023 season saw even more investment and growth in the form of our bespoke dive boat ‘Barbossa’ and an upgrade with our compressor, we are now proud to be the only Dive Centre in Cyprus providing daily trips to the very best dive site on the Island ‘Jubilee Shoals’
Steve is excited and in eager anticipation for the 2024 season, looking forward to meeting new and returning customers to introduce them to the undersea world. Making new friends to share his knowledge and love of diving with and to continue educating people in becoming more aware to the environment and to respect nature and the natural world.

Where did we come from…

We cater for the already qualified diver by providing professionally guided dives throughout Cyprus, from local shore dives, exploring some amazing dive sites where we regularly encounter some of the best aquatic life Cyprus has to offer including Loggerhead & Green Turtles, Moray’s, Rays, Octopus, Cuttlefish and Barracuda, to name but a few. We explore a number of dive sites exclusively, some of which include ancient shipwreck sites dating back to 200-400AD where we can find an abundance of Roman Amphorae.
We are the only Dive Centre in Cyprus providing daily trips to the best Dive Site in Cyprus and our local Reef ‘Jubilee Shoals’. This Reef, Wall, Pinnacle, Cave and Cavern system stretches 1.3km with depths ranging from 16m-50m. Some of the very best marine life, including Corals, Turtles and Dolphins can be regularly found along this amazing Reef.
We provide weekly dive trips to all of the shipwreck sites including the Limassol Wrecks, consisting of the Costandis and Lady Thetis which were deliberately sunk in 2014 just off of the Limassol coast in order to form part of an artificial reef, we provide regular trips to the recent addition to our Cyprus shipwreck and artificial reef portfolio, the MV Elpida just off of the Larnaca coast. We also provide regular trips to one of the best shipwrecks in the world, the world famous Zenobia, a roll on roll off ferry of Swedish origin which sank due to technical problems on her second voyage in 1980, she now lies in 42 metres on her Port side and is the most perfect dive site for all levels. Open Water divers can explore her Starboard side at 18 metres, Advanced Open Water divers can gain their Adventure dives including Deep, Navigation, Wreck, PPB, Photography and many, many more. Right through most Speciality courses. Any qualified diver visiting Cyprus simply must visit the Zenobia.
We deliver many Speciality Courses which are recognised towards Master SCUBA Diver certification as well as providing personal development and enhancing your skills, knowledge and experience. Some of our favourite Speciality Courses include: Deep, Night, Wreck, Enriched Air, PPB, Project Aware, Navigation, Emergency Oxygen Provider and also the Zenobia Distinctive Speciality Diver Course.
Pissouri Bay Divers is one of the few Dive Centres in Cyprus qualified in Adaptive Techniques, we believe diving should be experienced by everyone no matter the age, gender, orientation, abilities and impairments. This is why we are qualified to provide dive experiences, training and certification for those with disabilities both physical and psychological.
We provide the globally recognised First Aid Certification of Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care and Care for Children. This is a fantastic qualification where you build skills and confidence in how to approach many medical emergencies where you could save life.
