Steve has been passionate about scuba diving since completing his PADI Open Water Course with Fins Watersports, Hull in 1996, predominantly diving UK waters for the next 8 Years.
In 2004 Steve was posted to Cyprus with the British Army, during which time he completed his Advanced Open Water Course and spent his time exploring the eastern waters of Cyprus with his boat.
2011 was the year Steve realised he wanted to become a PADI Professional after completing his Rescue Diver course in Worcester with Seastyle Divers.
Winding the clock forward to 2016, Steve took that Pro level step by completing his Instructor course and retired from the military the following year, after 22 years of service.
Working for Coral Bay Divers during the summer of 2017 and becoming a Master Scuba Diver Trainer by the end of the year, the dream had been realised and Steve purchased Pissouri Bay Divers in March 2018.
When Paul came to Cyprus after his retirement, he looked forward to embarking upon a sea of tranquillity. It turns out, however, that Paul is not cut out for the quiet life of tanning on the beach all day. So he took up diving again with Steve at Pissouri Bay Divers: What started out as a hobby the time quickly became a daily habit. One course led to another, and soon enough, Paul achieved his Divemaster qualification and immediately afterwards, his DSD leadership.
Something that never crossed his mind when he made his first dive back in 1983, also in Cyprus.
Paul loves the underwater life and is an excellent turtle spotter.
But his absolute favourite dive is the Zenobia wreck. That’s why he knows it like the back of his hand, and we call him our very own Zen-specialist.
When Paul’s not diving, you can find him sitting quietly with a Keo in his hand, watching the people pass by. Not being a man of many words, Paul is the perfect underwater guide and will happily show you all the beautiful underwater sites of Cyprus.
Evy started travelling in 2019 and worked in exchange for free housing to save on her budget. In January of 2020 she arrived in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and her Dive Pro journey began! Being an Open Water diver since 2017 she had never considered the option of going pro until this moment. Then COVID happened in the middle of her Divemaster course, and she had to cut her trip short. Evy however, wasn’t afraid of the cold and murky waters of Belgium and completed her Divemaster course, followed by her Instructor course in the summer of 2021.
After gaining experience in Belgium and undertaking plenty of scuba trips, Evi decided it was time to spread her wings again, leave the cold behind and discover somewhere new. And so, in 2023 her journey at Pissouri Bay Divers began.
From day one Evy fell into place at the friendly, family run dive centre and excelled during her first-year teaching in Cyprus. Gaining her PADI Elite Instructor Award as well as continuing her diving education she knew she would be back for more.
Joe first came to Cyprus at the start of 2019 with just a backpack, tent and a plan to travel the island for three months. However, the magic of the island soon turned those three months into five years.
Joe completed his divemaster internship with Latchi Watersports and fell in love with the underwater world and scuba diving. So much so he decided to become an instructor at the end of 2019 and has been teaching since.
During his time teaching he decided he wanted to progress further and completed a range of speciality courses, as well as working his way up to IDC Staff Instructor level by the end of 2023. He will tell you himself he isn’t planning on stopping anytime soon!
2024 was time for a change of scenery and so Joe joined the team at Pissouri Bay Divers in mid-April. Excited to see new dive sites, meet new people and enjoy another area of this beautiful
island.
Tara has always enjoyed being surrounded by the sea and decided to come to Cyprus in 2020 as an intern for Pissouri Bay Divers after finishing her A-levels. From having no dive experience, she went on to complete her Divemaster course before leaving to undertake a degree in Marine Biology at Plymouth University.
Alongside her studies, she regularly worked with the biologist team at the National Marine Aquarium feeding and caring for the sharks, rays and fish whilst diving inside the tanks. Her degree also took her to North Sulawesi, Indonesia to monitor and collect data on coral and reef fish for scientific publication with her lecturer.
She is now back at Pissouri Bay Divers in 2024 ready for a busy season ahead. She hopes to complete the Instructor Development Course towards the end of the year and become an instructor. Let the adventures begin!
